The Leadership Site Award Program
Beginning in 2004, as part of California's second federally funded state improvement grant, twenty-eight high performing sites in the areas of literacy, behavior, collaboration, transition and family partnerships were identified through a rigorous competitive process. CalSTAT has maintained this community of collaborative research-based high performing program participants and will designate 10 new sites, each of the next three years.
All awarded sites commit to the following:
- Continuously improve their model project through ongoing professional development activities including training in non-awarded core message area
- Provide professional development presentations at regional institutes and/or local training events
- Develop program Web pages to be posted on the CalSTAT website
- Membership in the CalSTAT sponsored Leadership Community Networking Space
- Availability for press coverage in the Special Edge
